Calling Supporters for Walk Now for Autism Speaks Sponsorship

Last year, Darrigo & Diaz sponsored a child at the 2012 Spring Walk Now for Autism Speaks event at Raymond James Stadium, where all contributions help support families with autistic children. We are posting this blog entry now to keep this very important cause top-of-mind in our community of Old Tampa.
At Darrigo & Diaz, we take pride in helping the families in our community in whatever way we can. We were so excited about this opportunity to take part in the autism cause–especially considering how active the people of Florida continue to be in supporting the Autism Speaks organization and the legislation that provides for affected families. To put things in perspective, the estimated lifetime cost for caring for a child with autism is between 3.5 and five million dollars.
Jason, pictured here in 2013, was 2 years old when he was diagnosed with Autism. Now 7, Jason has walked in the last 6 events for Autism Speaks.
In 2012, we sponsored a bright young boy named Jason in Walk Now for Autism Speaks Tampa Bay. His parents are young and incredibly loving toward one another and their family. “Providing for three children, two of whom are autistic, can be incredibly difficult, but we were blown away by the couple’s resilient spirit and positivity that obviously rubbed off on little Jason,” says Nadine Diaz, Managing Partner at Darrigo & Diaz. “We were so very proud to support Team Jason and raise money for this incredible boy’s future.”
Autism Speaks, the host of the event that happens around the world, leads the way in funding global biomedical research towards the causes, prevention, treatment, and potential cure for autism. But beyond that, they strive to build a special community around this disorder by raising awareness and advocating for all of those affected by this global health crisis.
The result—hope. D&D plans on continuing to participate in this event in years to come and encourages the Tampa community to get involved and help us show our support and pride in these families.
