Study Ranks Florida Highway as Most Dangerous Interstate in America

Posted By Darrigo & Diaz

Florida Highway

An analysis of interstate fatalities between 2010 and 2015 by Everquote has revealed that Interstate 4 is the most dangerous road in the country. The study analyzed raw data gathered by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

The analysis revealed that there was an average of 1.41 fatalities per mile during the last six years along the 132-mile stretch of highway. Experts believe that high levels of tourism and distracted driving, coupled with the ongoing I-4 Ultimate improvement project, are all factors contributing to the high fatality rate.

Locals also report that reckless driving is also a significant problem. Speeding, changing lanes without signaling, and other risky driving behaviors are common factors behind many of the accidents that occur on this highway. In fact, hundreds of social media users have responded to a recent Inquisitr article stating that they are not surprised to hear that the I-4 is so dangerous. Many even reported that they experience severe panic attacks any time they have to travel on the highway.
